About Me

Thank you for visiting Spartans! I am Troy, a Certified Personal Trainer and Massage Therapist. I focus on teaching personal training clients how to get stronger (not bigger), breathe for better control during exercise, how to balance out foods, flexibility -mobility techniques and postural alignment with the help of massage and corrective exercise . I am a Spartan on a mission to teach people how to strengthen their bodies through resistance training and eliminate tension and adhesions from their muscles, using massage, to allow pain free movement and an increase in overall wellbeing.

I began my wellness journey after 7 years of a sedentary lifestyle, following a spinal injury. I went downhill and submerged myself in bad habits like drinking, staying up late often and eating junk food regularly. I thought my life in sports was over.

It took a 30 minute gym session of difficult pull-ups, painful bicep curls and the type of fatigue you feel after sprinting 400m during my squats, to let me know I had become severely out of shape. SO, I picked myself up and started learning everything I could about exercise and self rehabilitation from injuries. I became certified with ACE (American Council on Exercise) as a personal trainer and am now in school at NHI (National Holistic Institute) to become a certified massage therapist.

I know, first-hand, that getting back a physically active and mentally healthy lifestyle is no easy task and I am dedicating myself to helping people from all walks of life reclaim themselves.

It is Possible.

I have suffered from depression and I am one of many who benefitted from exercise, but I also know that it takes more than exercise to bring about change within mental health and physical fitness. Through resistance training, massage to raise body awareness, cardiovascular exercise, and wellness techniques, I teach my clients how to enjoy fitness in a sustainable way and through practicing mindfulness, while going after their goals, of course.
